Oh Happy Day!

Posted by Liz McCoy View Comments

Well today is such a beautiful day... I am feeling sooo much better and lighter, kind of helps to vent but helps more to lift it to God. He certainly does carry our burdens away.

On another note we've started our week long challenge at DSP.  It is called Theme Week and the theme is Cutie Pies: Babies & Kids.  I think everyone is excited about the challenges, prizes and of course the freebies!!!  Should be a fun week.  I have co-hosts this time around which is awesome Becky and Elizabeth are tremendous helps and already are making things go smoother.  I might even get to try and scrap something this time around LOL.

I've also been relieved of some other administrative duties at DSP which at first I thought it was a bummer.  But I lifted it with my dh and I really see that it is a blessing.  I will have more time to focus on other things, including my scrapping LOL...and even my scrapbooking for others and invitation design.  There certainly is a little less pressure.

The last couple of days I've been very energetic and excited for the day.  I've started getting up earlier and having that mommy hour or half hour around 5 am!!  I like it, quite not hectic can get a few things ready...and can actually brush my teeth and take care of my person! LOL.

Well we've been purging this past weekend....oh my that feels nice to cleanse yourself from STUFF.  I'm just sooo sick of STUFF!!  I hope to make more progress this week/weekend.  I have tomorrow off and plan to pick a project.  I'll post pictures tomorrow!!

What a day!

I don't usually post negatively here but I'm just so frustrated and hurt right now and need to vent.  It is a amazing how ungrateful people can be.  I've just been dealing with with people in different areas of my life who are completely ungrateful some love to complain about everything and I work very hard to try and accommodate their needs but when there are many players involved PEOPLE HAVE TO REALIZE everyone can't be pleased.

It is even more frustrating trying to help people who are ungrateful for your help.  They just negate or don't listen to what you have to say!!  And now I'm wondering why am I wasting my time???  Why should I help people who are so ungrateful???

Ack...makes me not want to give and I hate that because I do want to give....but when do you say enough is enough and those people have to change not you?????????????????????????/

American Idol

Posted by Liz McCoy Wednesday, May 23, 2007 View Comments

Okay I've watched this season....and tonight is the finale.  In the opening part Ryan rattled off all these stats and i wasn't paying attention and one of them jumped out at me after 49 hours we're here at the finale.  49 hours!!!! What the HECK!  Are you telling me that I've wasted that much time on this stupid show??  And here I am sitting through an annoying, dorky, and addicting 2 hour season finale!!!  Okay I need a LIFE!!!  I'm definitely not watching next year.

Hmmm what can i do with 50+ hours next year??? Ummmm.....ALOT!!!  I think I might commit to scrapping or reading for the time that American Idol is on??  You know the 3 or 4 times a week....crazy!

Shopping

Posted by Liz McCoy Monday, May 21, 2007 View Comments

Yesterday Ken and I went shopping for new clothes for him to wear to work. OUCH!! His new job is a shirt and tie environment and right now he wears jeans and polos. We spend a bundle!! Used a gift card and all our garage sale $$ and even had even had to get into the checking account. Well he should be set though. Everything was on sale a few things a bit pricey but worth it. Now we have to prepare for the dry cleaning bill LOL

It was interesting trying to figure out what the right shirt size is and how slacks should fit etc. A new experience for me, but a new skill I've learned as a wife :) It was funny shopping with Kenny when he is the one who is trying on all the clothes. I'd have to say just try it on see how it fits. I guess that's a guy thing??? He isn't really into clothes shopping but he loves all his clothes??? He doesn't like to get rid of any of them...i guess he realizes if he does eventually he'll have to go shopping again :P.

Anywhoo.....catch you later!!! Have a great monday!

What a wonderful day!!   Kenny run fellowship and I share the Word.  We went to lunch with Becca and Jessie to Bugaboo which we haven't been to in along time. Everyone sang the Happy Mother's Day song to me loud and proud in the car on the way there.  There was enjoyment of the family and time off from reality....and i rested in the afternoon but the evening i got back to work on work stuff and laundry and the usual to get ready for the week.  It was  big BLESSING!! We got a great family photo which blessed me a lot:

and this cute one of jack in the carseat

Ken's new job

Posted by Liz McCoy Sunday, May 13, 2007 View Comments

Woo Hoo...dh has a new job.  He has accepted a position as a senior accountant at a bank in buckhead.  We're excited about this move to the new company it is about 15 minutes closer but the opportunity is greater so we're still excited.

This have been hectic at work for me and very stressful I'm still pushing towards getting things together to go part time at the end of the month.  It will still be 3 days in the office and who knows what I'll work on at home...I have the laptop to connect remotely.  Hopefully the transition to part-time will be fine...usually when I'm not in the office things go NUTS!!

hugs!

Well it is Mother's Day....my very first!!!  Last year we celebrated when i was pregnant but that really didn't count even if i thought it did LOL....being pregnant is definitely not being a mother.

I was able to get dressed up today!! WOO HOO yep i took a shower (hot) and dried my hair, shaved (LOL) and even put on make-up....what?? I know i haven't put on make-up in probably 6 months and it was atleast that long before that time.  Daddy took a picture of mommy and jack which is nice as i don't have too many of us together.   Hope you all have a great mother's day too!!  HUGS!

Party Time

Posted by Liz McCoy Monday, May 7, 2007 View Comments

Went to a lovely graduation party yesterday...along with dh and ds.  Jack did great....especially for not having an afternoon nap.  He ended up sleeping all the way to 8:15 this morning...so I got to sleep in a bit too!! That was nice!

Today is a work day :) but i get 2 days off this week b/c grandma has appointments and can't watch the little one.  I hope to get a bunch done around the house those 2 days b/c i have a friend/client coming over on Saturday to work on her wedding invitations.  Her fiance is coming over also to play video games with dh....although he might be watching the little one at the same time LOL.

So i think i posted before that we sold our couch, chair and ottoman at the yard sale and we're using lawn chairs down in the den which is getting a bit old.  We went to the furniture store yesterday to price out some recliner sofas...and we found one with in our price range and comfort range (lol) that I'd like to get before the company comes over on saturday...we'll have to check and see how long it will take or if they have some in stock.

Anywhoo...until next time!!!

garage sale went great

Posted by Liz McCoy Tuesday, May 1, 2007 View Comments

Well the garage sale went fantastic....we made a good bit of money back on the stuff we sold.  Ken and I were able to sell our couch, chair, & ottoman for $20 more than we paid for it (bought it at a garage sale last year).  So our living room is set up with our lawn chairs until we sell ken's truck and find the right set of recliner sofas.

We had a great flow of traffic pretty much the whole day, except for right at the beginning. We were a bit concerned when no one was there when we "opened" at 8am?? In all our time of doing garage sales we had always had more than one shopper show up BEFORE we started.  So we prayed in the name of Jesus Christ with our power of attorney for the shoppers to come and for us to get good money for our items.  And God DELIVERED.

We're pretty honest with our pricing we don't try to charge much alot of stuff we had was .10 items and .25 items, but we also had alot of things that were newer and worth more so we priced them as we'd pay for them.  There wasn't much haggling so we knew we priced things right.

All those in the family who helped prepare and sell split up the $$ and we all did pretty good couldn't complain.  I don't know that we're going to splurge on anything with our $$ but we've got a nice little chunk.  I certainly realized I'm not spending $ on anything anymore.  Finally after all this time I see how sad it is to buy something at a great deal of like $5.00 but if you never use it and it is brand new no one cares how much it was they're only going to pay .50 for it at a garage sale!

I still want to get rid of TONS AND TONS of stuff in the house it isn't necessarily junk just stuff that we no longer need.  Rosie and Andy have some bigger pieces they want to sell towards the end of the summer nearer to their wedding so i might have to get my things ready by then.

Anywhoo....catch you later!
