Happy Mother's Day!!!
We've had whirl wind weekend so far. DH surprised me big time by staying home from work on Friday so we spent the whole day as a family. We went out to breakfast at Chick-Fil-A which I love Jack played a bit then we left and ran a few errands.
On Friday night we went to the Relay for Life event at the Gwinnett County Fair Grounds it was a wonderful event again this year. Such incredible work that everyone does to put that on and the last total I saw was over 2.2 Million Dollars Raised for the American Cancer Society!! Absolutely AWESOME!!
Saturday, we relaxed a bit in the early morning and the around 10:30 we went off to Old McDaniel Day at McDaniel Farm Park. They do such a great job with the activities they put on at that park. They had craft vendors, food vendor, story tellers, Civil War Reinactments, and of course the petting zoo!! Jack was more into running around than the animals. I got him to go look at the quack quacks but that was it.
Today we're celebrating my sister's graduation from the University of Georgia!! Way to go Rosie!!!! We're having a party with friends and family after fellowship. I get to go to super target and use my coupon for a free starbucks coffee this morning so that's awesome!!
Over all a fantastic mother's day (err...weekend)!!! I definitely feel soooo blessed!!!

Well, I've been tagged by my cuz Tina I am supposed to tell you 3 things about myself. I think I'll switch it up a bit and let you know 3 home improvement projects I want to accomplish this summer.
1. Expand the back deck and reposition the stairs.
2. Take down the kitchen wall paper and paint the whole kitchen.
3. Install a digital thermostat.

Well I'm trying to get there!!! A man in our branch is a tremendous example of having that heart of giving. He always makes time for others and is the first to volunteer to help out when someone has a need. I look to him as an example of how to give freely, without expecting something in return.
Yesterday we helped move a family in our fellowship from their house to their new apartment. It was such a wonderful time. I certainly got a lot out of giving. Mainly I feel blessed to have been able to give of myself to someone else without thinking of myself.
I love being in that place in my life where I don't feel guilty or burdened down with the work I have to do at home or at the office my mind is clear and available to see beyond myself, and my family. Now don't get me wrong I definitely attend to the needs of my family and myself but I have them in check more often now.

Yesterday we helped move a family in our fellowship from their house to their new apartment. It was such a wonderful time. I certainly got a lot out of giving. Mainly I feel blessed to have been able to give of myself to someone else without thinking of myself.

Well there is alot of illustrations, jokes, etc. out there about the high price of gas. I love that we can turn to humor...instead of curling up and crying!!!! This one was particularly funny to me. I think it sums it up just right!!!
There is forecasted rain tonight!! So we can't set up tonight which stinks...we have sooo much stuff to get rid of (3 families). Yesterday I was able to consolidate our garage to make room from sale stuff to come over.
I need to find my smock so I can get all my equipment ready. I like to wear my price stickers, permanent markers, scissors, tape. So I have it all handy for any situation. Mom usually handles the $$ and I wander around helping people out.
I'm excited....we should clear out a bunch of stuff (junk). We have a goal after this sale to really make some long lasting decisions about what we bring into the house. Somethings we hardly used and found no purpose for when we purchased them....those were the bad purchases. We're okay with the purchases where we've been using them and now no longer need them. Those we'll happily have garage sale after garage sale for.
I'm selling many of my serving dishes. I can't wait to see those go. I don't feel like I've had a chance to go through the whole house so I'm hoping I find a few things today and tomorrow during the sale that I can part with. The bigger the better LOL!!
We've seen great things happen for our friend's garage sale during the POURING RAIN! I know we can have GREAT success as well because God will bring us the exact right buyers!!!

I think I've talked in the past about how much better I feel when we're organizing and getting things out of the house. Well I'm actually anxious over things because I want to make sure I get all the clutter out. I'm just so ready not to have every little knick knack and baby toy and serving dishes etc.
I have decided to part with my serving dish collection. Yep that's right I'm letting go. I really really really am in love with cake plates and pretty serving pieces but I have to get realistic. The last cake I made was so long ago I honestly can't even remember ever making one!!! I did however make a batch of jumbo cupcakes for dh's birthday last week.
This Thursday and Friday I am off work so that, my mother and I can both go through the basement (where we keep all the for sale stuff) and price it. We will set up Friday night as much as we can. We plan on getting out all our tents too!! If the ground isn't wet maybe things will spill off onto the front yard and not just on the driveway.
We all are pretty pumped after helping out with our friends garage sale a few weekends ago and how successful it was in the pouring down rain!
We know we'll have that same success because God will bring us just the right buyers.
